LAUNCH SYSTEMS
General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems designs and manufactures a variety of advanced launch systems used to support the deployment of Missile Systems and other aerospace platforms. These systems include gas generators, launch catapults, and rocket motors. Gas generators utilize pyrotechnics to rapidly produce large volumes of gas, delivering the thrust needed to propel objects. Launch catapults leverage stored kinetic energy to achieve similar results. Rocket motors are used by missile systems to safely expel the missile from its launch tube, ensuring a secure separation from the launch platform before the main flight motors activate.
